Zpace: Management of cultural project – open call for a workshop Management of cultural projects in rural areas

Oberliht Association in collaboration with Warsztaty Kultury in Lublin and Wiz-Art Lviv invites you on June 3rd, 2014, to take part in the workshop Management of cultural projects in rural areas.
The workshop is dedicated to people who are interested and eager to learn how do a cultural project, the focus being on collaborative project development and building sustainable partnerships: how can you work together in an open and trustful working relationship that is at the same time mutually beneficial and has an impact on your community.

Goal of the workshop
Presenting the experience of Ukraine, especially in the small town of Zboyishcha (a suburb of Lviv), to help participants to think about possible projects applicable to their region beyond by certain standards imposed.

For whom
Individual and small teams of 2-3 persons, active in culture or from initiatives or NGOs working the field of culture, art, cultural education and city development through culture interested in developing cultural projects in rural areas and outside the major centers in Moldova.

Requirments
Participation in this workshop is based on a letter of motivation / expression of interest in the topic of the workshop. Participants are expected to be open to new challenges.

Workshop will be held in English with Romanian translation.

Participants coming from outside of Chisinau can submit a request for a travel grant (please mention this in a separate message). 5 best proposals will be considered for a travel grant.

Participation in the workshop is free.

The workshop will be held by Olha Reiter and Valentyna Zalevska (Ukraine).

Olha Reiter is co-founder and CEO of Lviv International Short Film Festival, pedal-power gerenared Rover Film Festival. Curator at state institution “Narotdnyi Dim”. Co-curator and coordinator at Film School ‘’Art School’’ in Lviv. She’s been working in cultural management for more than decade now (reiter@wiz-art.ua).

Valentyna Zalevska coordinates programmes in the field of cultural exchange such as “Tandem – Cultural Managers Exchange” in cooperation with the European Cultural Foundation and “Actors of Urban Change” in cooperation with the Robert Bosch Stiftung. She organized national script competition, produced a short film “Yellow Flower for Monsieur Bourillon” (Cannes Short Film Corner 2013), presented the topics of European cultural policy and capacity building. At the moment she is working as Programme manager/ EVS coordinator EVS in urban and deprived areas, Goris, Armenia (June 2013). This event is organized in the frame of the EU project SPACES. The SPACES project is financed by the European Union through the Eastern Partnership Culture Programme. Additionally, it receives support from Warsztaty Kultury in Lublin and Wiz-Art Lviv underNatasa Platform.

SPACES (Sustainable Public Areas for Culture in Eastern Countries) project assembles artists and cultural workers in four Eastern partner countries, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, who aim at reflecting societal issues in the public realm of their city. It also aims at strengthening the independent art and culture scene.
